There are some reboots out there that are going to falter before they’ve even begun (i.e. most of them). We all suffer from this weird compulsion that the film industry has to build up a new generation of fans for an old television shows or movies or books. Maybe it’s because we’ve been so obsessed with nostalgia that we just want to bring it back. Was the past truly the golden days?
So with that in mind, Dad’s Army is added to a hefty list of remakes, trying to adapt something that was already brilliant to begin with onto the big screen. Nevertheless, it’s the case, here, that truly makes it an exciting adventure. Anyway, Dad’s Army is about a hapless bunch of British military men during World War II as they try to help to war effort and unearth a spy.
With Toby Jones, Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Gambon, Mark Gatiss, Tom Courtenay, and Emily Atack are all highlights in this collection of hilarious and classic British actors. It’s all going to come together and I can see countless amounts of generations enjoying this force farce!
