We all hate bankers. I think, sometimes, even bankers hate bankers. They’ve become the scorn of everyone’s rage. After all, they play monopoly with our money and have caused a lot of financial issues whilst recouping the rewards and benefits after they are fired. If you’re like me and don’t truly understand how banking works and would rather keep it in the Wall Street DVD your shelf (I shouldn’t have said that), then this movie will explain how much you are being ripped off.
Starring Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Christian Bale, and Karen Gillian, The Big Short revolves around four men who saw the corruption of our banking and housing markets and saw an impending financial crisis. Investing in a way out, the soon find that they are about to head into the underbelly of banking…
Part of me really wants to see how this is going to work out because with that cast list, it’s going to be incredible. The other half knows that there are better stories to tell then highlighting the wankers who hold our money hostage. Directed by Adam McKay, this could be worth a watch but seems a bit underwhelming.
